Entries for Rally Sweden 2026 are now open

With two months to go until the event, entries for Rally Sweden 2026 officially open today. The rally takes place on 12–15 February in Umeå and forms round two of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship – the only WRC round run on snow and ice.

One of the major headlines for Swedish fans is that Oliver Solberg will start in the top category with the Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team. After an impressive 2025 season, including the WRC2 world title, victory at the WRC rally in Estonia – where he stepped up and delivered in a Rally1 car – and three consecutive WRC2 wins in Umeå, Solberg now makes a highly anticipated return to the premier class.

Reigning Rally Sweden winner Elfyn Evans also returns to Umeå in search of redemption after the dramatic title fight that decided the 2025 world championship, where the Welshman finished runner-up. Former Umeå winner Esapekka Lappi is back as well, with Hyundai confirming his return to WRC after a sabbatical season.

Rally Sweden Clerk of the Course Stig Rune Kjernsli looks forward to the fifth edition of the event in Umeå and Västerbotten, as the countdown now begins in earnest with the opening of entries.

“Seeing Oliver Solberg back in the top category is of course very positive, both for us and for the fans. With several former winners returning and a world championship that continues to develop, we are heading towards a very exciting Rally Sweden 2026,” says Stig Rune Kjernsli.

The stars of tomorrow will also arrive in Umeå as Junior WRC once again begins its season on Sweden’s winter roads.

The 2026 season marks the final year of the current Rally1 cars, before the new WRC27 technical regulations are introduced in 2027.

Entries are now open via the Rally Sweden website. Entry for Rally Sweden Historic also opens today.

Rally Sweden takes place in Umeå on 12–15 February 2026.
