Entry list for Rally Sweden 2025

Registration for Rally Sweden 2025 is now closed. A total of 62 teams from 25 different countries will take part in the World Championship event in Umeå from February 13 to 16. Among them is reigning world champion Thierry Neuville. Swedish star Oliver Solberg will also be there, looking to defend his victory from last year.

Record participation and ideal conditions

Rally Sweden, the only winter rally in the World Championship, has seen growing participation since its move to Umeå. The first edition in 2022 had 45 teams, last year saw 56, and this year sets a new record with 62 entries. The snowy landscapes of Västerbotten are currently providing a near-perfect setting for the upcoming rally stages.

“It’s great to see a new participation record this year, and even better to have so many Swedish drivers on the list. We know that Rally Sweden is an event many want to be part of. As the only winter round of the World Championship, we’re unique, and driving on snow and ice is a special challenge. This record speaks for itself. For us organizing the rally, it’s proof that we’re doing the right things to create a great event for the competitors,” says competition director Stig-Rune Kjernsli.

Tight competition at the top

The WRC1 class features a strong field with several of the world’s top drivers. Toyota is bringing five cars to Umeå, with two-time world champion Kalle Rovanperä (2022 and 2023) as one of the favorites. The team also includes last year’s WRC2 winner, Sami Pajari.

Hyundai’s lineup features reigning world champion Thierry Neuville, alongside former world champion Ott Tänak and Adrien Fourmaux, who has made the switch from Ford to Hyundai this season. Ford’s lineup includes Grégoire Munster, Joshua McErlean, and Mārtiņš Sesks, the Latvian driver who made a big impression in several World Championship events last year.

Notable swedish participants

Alongside Oliver Solberg and his co-driver Elliott Edmondson, who will compete in WRC2 in a Toyota, several other Swedes will also be on the starting list. Isak Reiersen and Lucas Karlsson are also entered in WRC2. In WRC3 and the Junior World Championship, Mille Johansson and Johan Grönvall will aim to defend their 2024 title.
