The Swedish Prince with co-driver Petter Solberg

HRH Prince Carl Philip did get the opportunity to drive a rally car with former rally world champion Petter Solberg, the father of WRC2-star Oliver Solberg, as co-driver.

The pair did drive a Toyota into the Red Barn Arena – the epicentre of Rally Sweden, just a short walk by foot from Umeå city centre – during Friday afternoon, a few hours before the WRC-stars entered the arena.
– It’s great to back here in Umeå. I am looking forward to once again getting really close to the action, and to take part in the rally. Sweden in the wintertime is really something spectacular.
And to experience a rally held in real winter conditions is always exciting, Prince Carl Philip said during his opening speech.
