FIA president guest at Rally Sweden

FIA President Jean Todt will attend the first round of the WRC season 2011. He has been invited by the Swedish Automobile Sports Federation, SBF, and he will follow the rally on location on Saturday February 12 and Sunday February 13.

– A very important and interesting visit that still more strengthens our good relations to the FIA, Kåge Schildt, chairman of SBF says.

In 2009 Jean Todt was elected the President of FIA. He defeated his challenger Ari Vatanen with 135 votes by 49. Now the Frenchman visits Sweden for the first time as a FIA President.  During his stay in Värmland and Rally Sweden Jean Todt will be guided by Kåge Schildt and Lars Österlind, chairman of  Svenska Rallyt  AB.

They will attend a number of special stages, but before Mr Todt is going back he will also meet Royal Automobile Club, KAK,  Motormännens Riksförbund, MRF, and SBF.

Jean Todt is the former successfull team director of Ferrari Fomula 1 team, but he has also had a vast experience as codriver. In 1973 he finished second in Rally Monte Carlo, together with Swede Ove  Andersson.
