Rally Sweden byter tävlingsledare. Den 2 april ersätts Bertil Klarin av Christina Lundqvist Viklund.
– Tävlingsledare som behärskar konsten att dirigera deltävlingar i rally-VM växer inte på träd och jag är mycket nöjd över att Christina väljer att komma tillbaka i hetluften, säger Svenska Rallyts vd Glenn Olsson.
Christina Lundqvist Viklund har arbetat i Svenska Rallyts organisation sedan 1995. Hon har varit både tävlingsledare, biträdande tävlingsledare och sportchef. Efter två kortare utflykter på andra jobb är hon nu tillbaka i ledningen för det svenska VM-rallyt.
– Det är få förunnat att få jobba med ett stort, internationellt arrangemang som Rally Sweden. Även om jag vet vad som väntar kommer jag tillbaka med lite perspektiv och distans till tävlingen vilket jag tror kan vara nyttigt, säger Lundqvist Viklund, som också blir sportchef i Svenska Rallyt AB.
Den nya tävlingsledaren påpekar att nyckeln till ett framgångsrikt Rally Sweden i första hand handlar om ett lyckat teamarbete.
– Och där känner jag mig trygg med all den kompetens som finns i organisationen.
Den nya tävlingsledaren ersätter sin före detta chef, Bertil Klarin, som gick i pension i våras. Efter att ha varit ansvarig för tävlingen sedan 1986 väljer han att trappa ner som senior advisor.
– I min nya roll kommer jag inte att engagera mig lika mycket i tävlingen som jag gjorde i år, men jag kommer självklart att supporta och stötta Christina så mycket hon önskar. Christina som ny tävlingsledare är den perfekta lösningen. Hon brinner för det här och vet exakt vad jobbet handlar om, säger Klarin.
Glenn Olsson instämmer:
– Christina har både nätverket och kompetensen som krävs för detta mycket speciella uppdrag.
Rally Sweden is changing Clerk of the Course. April 2nd, Bertil Klarin will be replaced by Christina Lundqvist Viklund.
– A Clerk of the Course who has the experience to manage a WRC event is not easy to find and I’m very pleased that Christina has chosen to come back, says Glenn Olsson, CEO of Svenska Rallyt AB.
Christina Lundqvist Viklund has worked in the Rally Sweden organisation since 1995. She has been both Clerk of the Course, Deputy Clerk of the Course and Sporting Manager. After having worked elsewhere for a short while she is now back to lead the Swedish WRC event.
– It’s a rare privilege to get to work with a large, international event the way Rally Sweden is. Even though I know what awaits, I have gained some distance and perspective to the event which I think can be useful, says Lundqvist Viklund, who will also become Sporting Manager for Svenska Rallyt AB.
The new Clerk of the Course points out that the key to a successful Rally Sweden lies in successful teamwork.
– And there I feel very secure with all the competence that exists in the organisation.
The new Clerk of the Course replaces her old boss, Bertil Klarin, who went into retirement this spring. After having had the responsibility for the event since 1986, Bertil choses to step down to the role as Senior Advisor.
– In my new role I won’t be as involved in all aspects of the rally as I was this year, but I will be there to assist Christina as much as she wants me to. Making Christina Clerk of the Course is the perfect solution. She is committed to this job and knows exactly what is required, says Klarin.
