14. PAULO NOBRE / EDU PAULA
We have lots of kilometers experience on snow and that was our goal.
5. OTT TÄNAK / KULDAR SIKK
Kuldar Sikk: after we went off at the Sågen Stage it’s been quite good. No drama. Tires has been working good becours we’ve been almost first on the road and also more snow than gravel. Maybe we try to go flat out tomorrow but if we’re still first on the road it’s going to be hard.
7. NASSER AL ATTIYAH / GIOVANNI BERNACCHINI
Tomorrow will be another day. Very difficult and not easy. Keep going on the same pace to learn more and more. We changed at few setups and I think I am quite happy about it.
17. PETER VAN MERKSTEIJN / EDDY CHEVAILLIER
It was a nice day. We made no mistakes. But this afternoon the car did not do what I wanted. I need to calm dow. Im happy to be here. It was a nice day. Lots of spectators and it was lots of fun. Tomorrow we are going to gain a few places but I also want to finish that’s the main goal.
8. MICHAL SOLOWOW / MACIEK BARAN
Very nice. Very nice day. A few small situations. Twice out of the road, but with luck. Looking forward for tomorrow.
18. THIERRY NEUVILLE / NICOLAS GILSOUL
So far everything works well. We did no mistake today. The cars works well and we improved a lot over the whole day. Im happy to be here. Now we are looking forward for tomorrow and hopefully we can approve again a little bit.
12. ARMINDO ARAUJO / MIGUEL RAMALHO
We have been penalized at service, seven minutes. The car is not ok, no power. We don’t know what the problem is. We will check now at service.
60. SEBASTIAN OGIER / JULIEN INGRASSIA
Not easy today but quite good. A lot of snow on the stages. Difficult but not so terrible hard for the tires. I try to save tires abut than you loose grip on the gravel parts. We also have a damper problems but we now change to SACHS that we are going to use on the Polo.
Going on tests allready on Monday.
64. EYVIND BRYNILDSEN / CATO MENKERUD
The backend of the car is now handles much better now in the afternoon then the start of the day.. Made a small misstake on the last stage and lost 10-15 sec. But ok, these things happen.
I don’t know aqnything about this ”Tire-gambling”. My filosophie is…put on tires, run stages, change betwin back and front and thats it. ( Big smil on his face).
The only tactic with tires today was 2 new in fron t on Sågen, no change for Fredriksberg and change them back to front before the Sprint stage.
I’m in haven now driving this WRC car and it’s going to be though to get back in my Truck for work on Monday.
21. MARTIN PROKOP / ZDENEK HRÛZA
It was good today. We were not able to go with Patrik with his speed. He was faster the whole day but now he made some mistakes and we are very close to him. So it is still possible to catch him. So for sure I will try to catch him tomorrow.
52. PATRIK SANDELL / STAFFAN PARMANDER
Good day. Made a mistake and had to stop and remove a engine cover when the engine got overheated. We lost about 30 s there. It will be a good fight with Prokop tomorrow. The third time we fight the last day. I have won the two other times and will win tomorrow also. The difference to the fastest cars are bigger than I thought it should be. But it will be smaller and smaller each rally.
Bra dag.
1. SÉBASTIEN LOEB / DANIEL ELENA
The most difficult thing was to stay on the road and to be motivated. It was a difficult day. We had a spin and with a puncture. Not easy. But we have to fight for sixth place.
6. EVGENY NOVIKOV / DENIS GIRAUDET
I’ve pushed all day and my only goal for this day was that I would keep my 5th posision. Good plan but I don’t have all experience for these conditions.
15. MADS ØSTBERG / JONAS ANDERSSON
This morning was quite good for us. Also this afternoon has been working much better than yesterday. We gain some time on Petter. But we have had a few problems during the day but tomorrow its flat out every where. I want that podium place but I think Petter wants it as well there will be a big fight for it.
4. PETTER SOLBERG / CHRIS PATTERSSON
It was more tricky for me today. It has not been easy I have to say. Mads will attack fur sure tomorrow. We had about the same speed the whole day. I am satisfied with where I am. I can´t complain. And it would be nice to be the fastest Norwegian driver tomorrow…
2. MIKKO HIRVONEN / JARMO LEHTINEN
Its going to be tuff to beat Jari Matti Latvala. I lost seconds to him and it was incredible close in many stages. But you cant give up. Even if we lost a little today Im starting to be very happy with the car and Im very familiar with the car. Future looks much better again so Im quite happy. I will go flat out tomorrow morning.
3. JARI-MATTI LATVALA / MIIKA ANTTILA
This is an very interesting fight with Mikko today. We changed best times on the stages back and forward between us all day. Some seconds here and there.
The thing is to know when to ”play you cards” and do the right decicion.
It’s going to be a big fight tomorrow but ofcours in all this I need to think about the championships.
Question:If you have comfortable lead at the Power stage tomorrow, are you going to do like Loeb in Monte Carlo and go flat out for the extra 3 points?
No, I don’t think that, and I have not started to think about this yet.
33. PER-GUNNAR ANDERSSON / EMIL AXELSSON
This morning wasnt so good. We had problems with the dumpers and we didn’t get any grip. We changed at the service and then it went much better. We had a break leakage at Vargåsen on the second run and we lost ten seconds but at least we could fix it.
32. CRAIG BREEN / GARETH ROBERTS
We broke a brake disc on the second stage after service. We have been driving with only three brakes on the car. We didn´t have time to put new tires on the last proper stage so we lost all the studs.
49. PONTUS TIDEMAND / G BERGSTEN
Bra – men vi missade lite på förmiddagen efter att ha gjort lite justeringar igår. Gick bättre på eftermiddagen. Vi ändrar lite till tills imorgon och hoppas att det går ännu bättre.
Good – but we lost some time in the first stages after changing some setups from yesterday. We will change some more setups for tomorrow and hopefully it will go better then.
31. HAYDEN PADDON / JOHN KENNARD
Good. Car fun to drive. My first time on snow. Only seen snow a few times in my life. Seeing it and driving on it is two complete different things. So I hope to get through this rally and soon be back on gravel.
34. ALISTER MCRAE / WILLIAM HAYES
Not the best day. We had a puncture and I manage to get stock in the snowbank again. So not a very good day. We see what happens tomorrow but its great to be here. We will try to get through the day with no mistake.
36. YAZEED AL RAJHI / MICHAEL ORR
I’am enjoy myself very much. This has been a great and nice rally. I did not have any experience of this suface but learning all the time. I think I have gone up 70% in confidence of driving here. Everyone is saying that , when you have been driven in Sweden, you could go on in WRC. That is the event that “makes you a proper rally driver”.
Question: Who of the S2000/SWRC drivers are you compare you self with?
Sebastién Ogier ofcourse. He is the best in a S2000 car right now so everyone of us must look at his times and compare with. When I go seconds closer to him, stage by stage, then I know I’m doing a good job.
