[:sv]Vädersituationen med plusgrader i större delar av Skandinavien har skapat enorma problem för arrangörerna bakom Rally Sweden. Arbetat att analysera vägarnas status i kombination med att följa förändringarna i väderprognoserna har pågått i flera dygn, detta för att komma fram till beslut om tävlingen kan genomföras i delar eller i sin helhet.
– Tävlingsledningen med banchefen Johan Magnusson och tävlingsledare Stig-Rune Kjernsli i spetsen har gjort allt de kan och lite till för att finna lösningar och vi kommer försöka genomföra en tävling trots allt, säger Rally Swedens vd Glenn Olsson.
Det varma vädret har gjort att vissa sträckor tyvärr inte kan genomföras över huvudtaget och dessa är Shakedown, SSS 1, SS Kirkenaer och SS Hagfors Sprint.
Öppningsceremonin och Red Bull Show kommer att genomföras som planerat.
För att minimera antalet bilar som kör på vägarna kommer även Rally Sweden Historic att ställas in.
– Givetvis otroligt tråkigt att behöva ta beslutet att ställa in Historic, men det var antingen det eller att ställa in allt. Vi får vara glada att VM kan köras, säger Historics tävlingsledare Hasse Joansson.
Rekognoseringen flyttas till onsdag-torsdag då det kallare vädret förväntas komma in, detta för att minimera vägskadorna, och de sträckor som är i bäst skick rekognoseras under onsdagen.
– Att flytta rekognoseringen har varit en helt avgörande punkt för att kunna genomföra tävlingen, vi har tjällossning på vissa vägar och vi ber alla att i absoluta möjligaste mån undvika tävlingsvägarna fram tills vi får tjäle igen, säger banchefen Johan Magnusson.
Statusen på vägarna är att det fortfarande finns is och snö på sträckorna längst i norr men att det på sträckorna längre söderut är lite snö och mestadels grusvägar.
– Vi har i dialog med FIA, WRC Promoter och teamen tagit beslutet att vi ändå genomför tävlingen och alla är medvetna om vilka förutsättningar som gäller. Nu hoppas vi att vädergudarna är med oss och att vi får minusgrader och solsken som prognoserna spår, säger tävlingsledaren Stig-Rune Kjernsli.[:en]The weather situation with above zero temperatures in large parts of Scandinavia has caused huge problems for the organizers of Rally Sweden. To minimize the number of cars driving on the roads, the supporting event Rally Sweden Historic will be cancelled.
– Of course incredibly sad to have to take the decision to cancel Historic, but it was either that or to cancel everything. We are happy that WRC event can be run, says Hasse Joansson, Clerk of the Course for Rally Sweden Historic.
The reconnaissance is moved to Wednesday and Thursday when cold weather is expected. This is to minimize the damage on the roads. The stages in best condition will be recced during Wednesday.
– To move the reconnaissance has been a crucial point for the implementation of event. The ground frost has thawed on some roads and we ask everyone to the absolute extent possible to avoid using the the rally routs until we have ground frost again, says Route Manager Johan Magnusson.
The status of the stages is that there is ice and snow on the stages on the northernmost stages and in the south there is a little snow and mostly gravel.
– We have, in dialogue with the FIA, WRC Promoter and the teams, made the decision to go through with the event and everyone are aware of the preconditions. Now we hope that the weather gods are with us to get the below zero temperatures and sunshine as the forecast predicts, says Clerk of the Course, Stig-Rune Kjernsli.[:]
