The first entries have arrived

A Frenchman, Jean Pascal Besson, and a local driver were the first two drivers to enter Rally Sweden 2011.

The first Swedish driver was Andreas Thelaus from Karlstad entered into the National class.

– I am a French driver starting in Rally Sweden for the first time, Besson declares in an e-mail to the rally organization.

Jean Pascal Besson from Oyonnax is 44 years old and has no earlier experience of rallying in Sweden. But still he has been driving two international rallies the last two seasons.  In 2009 he entered the Dakar Rally in Argentine and this autumn he took part of the French WRC rally.

In Dakar he finished 67 overall and was the winner of his class in a Mercedes. In Rallye de France he entered a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV and he was close to top ten in his class.

He will enter the rally together with his co-driver Patrice Roissac.

Much closer to the rally we find Andreas Thelaus who lives just outside Karlstad in Grums, driving a 2 wd Ford Fiesta ST. Still a junior he finished fourth among the seniors in his class in the Swedish Rally Championship in 2009.
