En skön svensk seger

Det var en fantastisk Superspecial vi bjöds på när Rally Sweden startade i Karlstad på torsdagskvällen.

Pontus Tidemand överraskade inte bara sig själv utan allihop när han fick bästa tid på SS1, och därmed hamnade i ledning inför dag 2.
Att slå hela startfältet i en WRC2 bil är minst sagt imponerande och det kommer garanterat ge hemmaförarens självförtroende en kick uppåt inför helgen. Uppenbarligen bekväm i sin nya bil kommer han bli svår att slå i årets Rally Sweden.

Superspecialen i Karlstad var efterlängtad och är det första tillfället där förarna kan visa vad de går för. Även om det finns mycket spekulationer om vem som kommer att vinna i år så har den här kvällen visat att det kommer att bli svårgissat.

Ett redan intressant rally har blivit ännu intressantare.

Pontus Tidemand surprised not only himself, but everyone by clenching the best time in SS1, leading all cars going into day 2.
Being able to push through all the competition in a WRC2 car is, to say the least, impressive and will be sure to give the home driver a well deserved boost of confidence for the rest of the weekend.
Obviously feeling confident in his new car he will be a tough competitor to beat in this year’s Rally Sweden.

The SSS in Karlstad was a much awaited event and the first real chance for the drivers to prove what they’re made of.
While there’s a lot of speculation about who will be the one coming out on top this year, just as the evening proved, this won’t be an easy one when it comes to hitting the bulls eye.

What was already a very interesting rally just got even more interesting.
