Fiesta WRC suits Solberg

Petter Solberg started the season with a third place in Monte Carlo Rally. It was a good result for the Norwegian in his comeback as a manufacturer driver for Ford. Now he’s firing up for Rally Sweden February 9-12.

Petter Solberg effort in WRC premiere makes him one of the favorites in Rally Sweden, which this year is more Swedish-Norwegian than ever. Six of Friday’s special stages are determined in their entirety on the Norwegian side of the border. One special stage, SS2, starting in Sweden, crossing the border and finishes in Norway. It is also on the latter route as Petter Solberg will pass his Swedish home Mitandersfors.

Home routes is one of the reasons that Petter Solberg is considered one of the really hot victorious candidates in this year’s Rally Sweden. Another is the revival he received in his new company car, the Ford Fiesta RS WRC.

– I must say I am very impressed with the car. It’s fast and it suits my driving style perfectly. Furthermore, I understand that it is even better on gravel and snow then on asphalt so I can hardly wait to get out on the special stages in Norway and Sweden next month, says a delighted and inspired Solberg.
