Låt oss hylla stjärnan Björn Waldegård

Björn Waldegård var en av världens mest framgångsrika och populära rallyförare genom tiderna. Bland annat vann han mellan 1975 och 1990 16 VM-rallytävlingar. Han blev 1979 korad till den förste officielle rallyvärldsmästaren. Björn vann Svenska rallyt fem gånger, Safarirallyt fyra gånger, Elfenbenskustenrallyt tre gånger och dubbelt i både San Remo-rallyt och Monte Carlo-rallyt. Björn gick bort i cancer den 29 augusti i år.

Nu vill vi hylla Björn genom att låta fans runt hela värden tända en stjärna för honom på thestar.se.

 – Björn Waldegård är en av de absolut största genom tiderna, inte bara som svensk utan i världen. Och för oss känns det självklart att uppmärksamma honom nu när det börjar dra ihop sig till nästa rally, säger Glenn Olsson, vd, Rally Sweden.

Let us celebrate Björn Waldegård, The Star.

Björn Waldegård is one of the most successful and popular rally drivers of our time. Between 1975 and 1990 he won 16 World Rally Championships. In 1979 he was crowned the worlds first official World Rally Champion. Björn won the Rally Sweden five times, The Safari Rally four times, The Ivory Coast Rally three times and The San Remo Rally and The Monte Carlo Rally twice each. Over the years he competed for many leading teams and car makers including Volkswagen, Porsche and Ford.

August 29:th 2014 he tragically passed away.

Now we want to celebrate his memory by letting fans from around the world light a star for him on thestar.se.

– Björn Waldegård was one of the all time greats, not only in Sweden but in the world. For us it is only natural to remember and honour him now as the rally draws closer, says Glenn Olsson, CEO, Rally Sweden.
