Olycka på Shakedown

Efter incidenten på Shakedown-sträckan I Råda vill Rally Sweden lämna följande uttalande:

Klockan 08.38 åkte den Polske tävlande Michal Solowow (start nr 18) av vägen och körde på en ackrediterad fotograf. Arrangörens rescuebil och en ambulans var på plats kl 08.53 och kunde konstatera att mannen var vid fullt medvetande och inte hade några allvarliga skador. Fotografen togs till sjukhuset i Karlstad för observation och vidare undersökning.

Vår initiala bedömning av situationen är att alla säkerhetsrutiner i samband med olyckan har fungerat enligt plan. Vi fortsätter övervaka utvecklingen av det inträffade.

Uppdatering om morgonens olycka.

Fotografen som blev påkörd befinner sig på sjukhuset I Karlstad. Han har ådragit sig mindre frakturer i ena handen och en kotkompression, båda saker som han kommer att återhämta sig fullständigt enligt läkarna. Han stannar på sjukhuset över natten.

Ytterligare information har också visat att fotografen inte befann sig i ett angivet fotoområde, där olyckan ägde rum.Following the recent incident at the Shakedown stage in Råda, Rally Sweden can issue the following statement:

At 08.38 Polish competitor Michal Solowow (start nr 18) went off road shortly before the finish of the stage and hit an accredited photographer. The organizers rescue vehicle and a ambulance was on scene at 08.53 and could establish that the man was conscious and had no serious injuries. The photographer was taken to the hospital in Karlstad for observation and further examination.

Our initial assessment of the situation is that all safety procedures and routines have worked as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Update on the accident this morning.

The photographer who was hit by a car is at the hospital I Karlstad. He has suffered minor fractures in one hand and a compressed vertebra, both injuries he will recover from completely according to the doctors. He will remain in the hospital overnight.

Further information has also shown that the photographer was not in a designated photo-area where the accident occurred.
