Qualifying Stage in focus

Today begins Rally Sweden.For the first time in championship history, the top seeded drivers have a qualifying run to determinate the start position on Friday’s routes.

The fastest of today’s qualifying stage in Råda will select the start position just before the evening’s super special on Färjestadtravet in Karlstad. First couple out at 20:04 am is Richard Göransson and Mads Østberg (see full heats the list in a previous news on www.rallysweden.com).

Qualification is the distance for many years using shakedown leg of the Rada. Qualifying is the following:

* All P1 and P2-seeded riders in the contest get a chance to test drive the qualifying distance twice between 08.00 and 10.00.

* At 10.33 am the qualifiying stage starts when drivers run the route once on time. Starting order for qualifyingdistance is according to World Cup table which means that Sébastien Loeb qualify first, followed by Dani Sordo, Petter Solberg, Mikko Hirvonen and so on.

The driver who is fastest in qualifying run can first of all determine the starting position he will be on Friday’sroutes in the competition. The next fastest driver chooses the starting position as number two and so on.

The starting position for Saturday’s and Sunday’s stage in reverse order for the top seeded drivers. Depending on how many are left in the contest, the person, for example, is in 15th place goes out first and who tops the list of results running routes as 15th car.
