Pontus Tidemand is fast. So far, fastest of all in Rally Sweden 2012. When the entry for the Swedish WRC event opened he was first in line.

– I don’t like being second, says Sweden’s latest rally star with a smile.

Pontus Tidemand might be the hottest of all Swedish rally drivers right now. Following the success of 2011 and gold medal in the national championship, the 21-year old from Charlottenberg is on his way to an international career. And the first step will be his favorite event, Rally Sweden.

– Rally Sweden is of course special for me, being from the county of Värmland. Its run on my home turf, is extremely exciting and a great experience for the spectators. I have competed on parts of the route, as part of the national championship the last two years, and it’s going to be great fun to finally compete the entire event, Tidemand says.

In Rally Sweden Tidemand will be competing in a Skoda Fabia S2000, for the Norwegian motorsport talent development company EVEN Rally with which he recently signed on. EVEN Rally is behind the promotion of Andreas Mikkelsen, the Norwegian who made a great success winning the 2011 IRC.
